Our Sleep Approach

Our Sleep Approach

Our sleep approach is built on one solid principle: every child and every family are unique… However, there is ONE THING they all have in common:

Better sleep positively contributes to a child's psycho-cognitive development, to the parent-child relationship, and makes for a calmer family.

It's an approach with solid scientific foundations, built on the concept of independent sleep onset — introduced gradually, with respect, presence, and comfort — and of independent resettling.

Our sleep approach is aimed at having your child sleep in their own crib, and is not compatible with bedsharing.

Our Sleep Recipe

Ingredients

1. Experience

We're a company with more than 8 years of experience in pediatric sleep consulting, having successfully worked with more than 2,200 families around the world, from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. It's been an incredibly enriching experience, both professionally and personally, that has shown us how different cultures often approach sleep and parenting in very different ways — yet always united by the same desire to guide their child toward peaceful sleep and bring their family greater calm.

2. Science

We completed a thorough training and certification program — the most renowned and respected in the world, and the only one requiring continuous ongoing education — to become and operate as Certified Baby Sleep Consultants. We continuously build on that training with specialized courses and by attending the world's leading conferences in infant sleep. Our sleep approach and guidance are always grounded in scientifically valid, empirically proven research.

3. Honesty

We firmly believe every child is unique. In complete honesty and transparency, we'll tell you what goals your little one can realistically achieve, based on their starting sleep situation, individual factors like age and developmentally-appropriate sleep expectations, and the unique way your child responds to the changes we introduce to their sleep.

4. Passion

We truly love what we do. We support every family with genuine involvement, positivity, and enthusiasm, believing these are essential ingredients for making a sleep program both easier and more enjoyable to follow.

5. Empathy

We've been there too, as moms. We've lived through how hard and difficult sleep deprivation is, and how deeply it affects a family's wellbeing. But we've also come out the other side, into a world where our whole family's life changed radically once our own children started sleeping well. We take a completely non-judgmental approach — you'll receive nothing but understanding and warmth from us.

6. Guidance and Support

You won't be alone! This is a journey we take on and complete together with your family. No more dilemmas about your child's sleep, no more generic solutions that don't work, no more unanswered questions, no more 3am Google searches, no more "try this and that" from friends and family. It's US, TOGETHER WITH YOU, analyzing your child's sleep situation to understand why they're not sleeping well and what to do to help them sleep significantly better.

The Process

Yes, you read that right: our sleep "recipe" doesn't follow a fixed, prescribed process! What we do is take the essential ingredients and blend them in different proportions to create the formula that best suits your little one's and your family's needs. The sleep plan is built around each child's specific, individual needs and each family's goals. We also make sure to provide personalized support based on how your child specifically responds to the sleep changes introduced and the progress made. Our mission is to guide you toward reaching your goals and help everyone sleep better!

So How Does It Actually Work?

We offer personalized sleep programs lasting two or three weeks, depending on your child's age group, guiding you step by step until you reach your sleep goals.

1. In-Depth Preliminary Assessment

We'll send you a detailed preliminary questionnaire to gather all the information we need about your child's sleep, your family's routines and habits, your sleep challenges, and your expectations for the program together.

2. 60-Minute Consultation

This is a virtual introductory meeting, which can take place by audio or video. We'll talk about your child, their sleep habits and how and why to change them, as well as how you as parents are feeling about approaching these sleep changes.

3. Detailed Sleep Plan

We'll put together a detailed sleep plan giving you specific, practical information and tools about falling asleep, nighttime and daytime sleep, aimed at improving your child's sleep dynamics and aligning them with your family's expectations. The sleep plan is personalized based on individual characteristics and age — things like wake windows, sleep and meal times, number of naps, sleep environment, specific observations about your child's sleep, total night, day, and overall sleep hours, and sleep rituals.

4. Two-to-Three-Week Follow-Up Support

This is the key to our success and what sets us apart, because it's here that our experience working with thousands of children truly makes the difference! We'll be with you every step of the way — by phone, message, or email — throughout the entire program, until you reach your sleep goals.

5. Final Surprise

Since it's a surprise, we can't reveal everything now — but we can tell you it'll help you handle future sleep situations with your child.

Two More Important Things

We'll define together what "success" looks like for your child, based on their specific needs.

Let's be honest: there isn't a parent alive who wouldn't want their child to sleep uninterrupted from 8pm to 8am and take two or three 2-hour naps. But while a few children do manage this, most don't. We'll assess your little one's individual response to the sleep changes we introduce and tell you what you can realistically expect at each stage of the program. That way, you'll learn how to best support YOUR child's sleep.

A quick note on crying:

Since we're often asked whether our approach involves harsh cry-it-out methods — where a child is left to cry alone, with no support or comfort from their parents — we think it's worth addressing here directly. In short: NO, WE DO NOT USE EXTINCTION-STYLE CRY-IT-OUT METHODS. In complete honesty and transparency, we can't promise your child won't cry at all. Crying is a normal way for children to respond to significant changes around sleep (and beyond!), as well as a natural expression of tiredness. We always make clear to parents that our approach is as gentle as possible, but it will still involve some form of protest from your child as their sleep habits change. We will never ask you to leave your little one to cry alone, to leave them unsupported, or to ignore their crying.
